Doctoral Symposium

The Semantic Computing Doctoral Symposium will be held in person and fully integrated into ICSC 2027 in Laguna Hills. The Symposium provides a forum for PhD students working in Semantic Computing and related areas of Artificial Intelligence, including Robotics and Data & Knowledge Engineering.

The main objectives of the Symposium are to:

  • Build a shared knowledge base among PhD students working in Semantic Computing and related AI research areas.

  • Provide doctoral students with the opportunity to present their research and receive constructive feedback from their peers and academics.

  • Encourage the development of an interdisciplinary community of early-career researchers, creating opportunities for future collaboration, networking, and exchange of ideas.

We invite PhD students to apply for one of the limited available places. Ideally, applicants should have completed at least one year of doctoral study or have progressed sufficiently in their research to discuss their research ideas and, where applicable, preliminary findings.

Participants will be selected based on the relevance of their research to one or more of the three co-located conferences — ICSC, AIxDKE, or RoboticsCC — as well as the quality of their submitted abstract.

Participants in the Doctoral Symposium will receive access to all three co-located conferences: ICSC, AIxDKE, and RoboticsCC.

Application Process

Applicants must:

  1. Complete and submit the online application form via (Link to Google Forms).
